Prolific Huggers

First of all, I want apologize for the delay in posting. I feel that pictures from set are a big part of telling the story of making My Name Is Jerry, and I wanted to make sure that the photos I had available were of good quality and ready to be published. So, right now, I’m playing catch-up with posts - sorry again for the wait and thanks for your patience.

We were back in Doc’s on Monday filming a scene with Katlyn Carlson and Allison Scagliotti, who plays Jerry’s daughter Trisha. (You may know Allison from shows such as “Drake and Josh” and “One Tree Hill.”) It’s a touching exchange, and also the only scene in the film that does not include Doug Jones.

Have a Drink

The second and final location of the day was a stone’s throw away, where Doug and Katlyn’s characters take a walk and have a talk on a bench under the setting sun.

The crew had to race against the limited hours of daylight, but filming was successful. Quite a crowd of Muncie residents gathered to watch the shoot, and when possible Dougie met with some of the folks who came to see the action.

I don’t know if it’s because today was a pretty short filming day (about 8 hours as opposed to 12) and people were feeling generous, or because of the emotional scenes being filmed, but a lot of the cast and crew were bein’ really lovey-dovey. Super-affectionate.

Doug is cuddly like this all the time, though, so I guess for him it’s just business as usual. Which is cool - the world desperately needs more prolific huggers.

That’s all for now - check in again soon!

love,
-layne.

Dougie’s fans (He calls them Fan Sapiens!) call that a Hug-a-Dougie Opportunity. His hugs are legendary (and somewhat infectious). LOVE the picture!!!

I am going to miss Doug’s hugs a LOT after filming is finished. Really. And being called precious. I just love it.
