We were honored to present My Name is Jerry as a part of the Ball State’s University Film Series on April 6th. The screening took place in the Arts and Journalism Building for a crowd of students, faculty, and fans! It was then followed by a brief discussion between the audience and individuals involved in the production of the movie, including director Morgan Mead.

The range of festivals we’ve been accepted to is very exciting, and we are thrilled with all of the nominations we’ve received for the International Filmmaker Festival. Wish us luck!
We heard from a number of fans at the screening that the music for the film was a big hit! So we’ve finally had a chance to add a music player to the site and put up the song “My Feet Move” for you to check out. The song plays during the opening credits of the film, and it’s definitely my favorite - see what you think! www.mynameisjerry.com.

Also, we’ve got big news: our first film festival acceptance!!! We are an official selection for the 2009 Route 66 Film Festival and we won the award for Best Feature Comedy!!!! The festival will take place this September.

We’re trying to keep things fresh on the My Name is Jerry site as we work towards our distribution plan, so we’ve added some cool new items to the downloads page that go with our new poster design. There are some new banners:

And some new icons:

Also, we’ve received the first review of the film! Apparently Parker came to our May screening and went ahead and wrote up a review of what he thought about My Name is Jerry. We would definitely like to thank him for his thoughts! Check it out at http://deltorofilms.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-name-is-jerry-review.html

If any of you happen to be in the Indy area this weekend, Morgan Mead, the director of My Name is Jerry is premiering his new documentary The Alpha and the Mega this Saturday, July 11th at 10am at the Hamilton 16 IMAX in Noblesville, IN.
The film is a 60 minute documentary shot in HD over the last 3 years exploring the question, “What is a megachurch?”. For more on the film including a trailer, visit: http://www.megachurchmovie.com/ - more info about the premiere is on the synopsis page.
Based on the results we received from our survey, we’ve created a new poster design for My Name is Jerry:
Our hope with this poster is to show the more dramatic side of the film and to reflect an important element of the story: change. We definitely aren’t getting rid of our first poster, but we hope that this poster will compliment it and show another dimension of the film.
Have any thoughts on this new look? Feel free to leave a comment or send an email to: mnijnewsletter@gmail.com
July is almost here, and that means that we are approaching the one-year anniversary of when filming of My Name is Jerry began! This film has had an amazing year getting to this point - and there’s only more to come! If you were following the blog during filming or involved with the project, please share a comment about it.
Also, our big news this week: If you attended the screening, you may have noticed that there was a new t-shirt design available at the event. We decided to unveil the new design that night, and have now made it available for sale through the website at http://www.mynameisjerry.com on the merchandise page.
We are calling this the “Doug Jones Design” because we had the shirts printed a special way (called garment printing - printed by EmbroidMe) that allowed us to include a full-color photo of Doug in the design. This means they cost a little more than our last shirts, but we just had to put the film’s star on a shirt!

We’ve really enjoyed having Sarah as our blogger and we hope you have too! We wish her the best of luck as she moves forward :).

My name is Jessica and I’ll be taking over as the My Name is Jerry blogger. What I’d like to share with you today are the survey results from the screening. Around 450 people filled out surveys, so there was a lot of great infromation to cover!
.
We asked everyone to rank the following on a scale of 1-5 (1 = Poor, 2 = Fair, 3 = Average, 4 = Good, 5 = Excellent).
- How would you rate the title?
- How would you rate the story?
- How would you rate the drama?
- How would you rate the comedy?
- How well did you relate with the characters?
- How would you rate the begriming?
- How would you rate the ending?
- How would you rate the poster art?
- How would you rate the overall film?
- Would you be likely to recommend this film?
.
What we found were that the overall scores were high!

.
And there didn’t seem to be a dramatic difference in ratings between age groups or sexes:

.
.
We also received a lot of great feedback from our focus groups, and based on everything we learned from both of these outlets, we’ve decided to create a new poster and trailer to reflect the more dramatic side of the film. The poster will be coming soon and we look forward to your feedback! Thank you again to all those who participated!
